White Wing Label

White Wing Label

After retiring from 4 years in the rotary-wing division of the United States Air Force, the company’s President/CEO Blake Leggett formed Leggett Tactical, a manufacturing company servicing a variety of military contracts. In 2008, Leggett, his wife Sarah, and his brother Bryce created and launched the consumer travel division, White Wing Label. The company’s exponential growth reassures the Leggetts that there is a demand for high-quality, Made in America products.
“The products we bring to the table for the White Wing Label collection are easy to design,” said Leggett. “We love to travel, we are life-long sportsmen, and we are business men and women. The greatest response we have had from customers come from their recognition that our designs meet all of their requirements in luggage. We use a number 8 Duck Cotton which offers the best strength-to-weight ratio that we’ve found. All fabrics are custom dyed to our specifications and cut and sewn in our manufacturing facility. Our full grain English Bridle leather is vegetable tanned with no chromium added. The tanning process is important as it creates the most durable and best-looking leather on the market. Fittings are solid brass, zippers are military grade YKK, and our thread is a 138-bonded nylon, which is twice as strong as the industry standard. Our grommets are forged from steel, then coated with a brass finish. Why you ask? Steel for strength and brass for curb appeal. Even our bag liners are made from 400 denier nylon for strength and durability. We overlook nothing, and ensure all materials are assembled into the final product with precision. The result is that your bag will look better with frequent use and withstand the test of time.”

Classic Creations

Master goldsmith Frank McCubbins began his career as a goldsmith in 1974 working as a wax carver and mold maker for a large jewelry manufacturer in Southern California. He then moved to Oregon and worked with several different designer goldsmiths. The poor anatomy he saw in wildlife jewelry prompted Frank to produce a collection of rings and pendants featuring more authentic sculpted animals, which was acquired by Wally Anderson Mfg from Eugene, OR in 1986. These designs are still being manufactured today.

A few years later, Frank accepted an invitation to exhibit at the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation’s National Convention, in Seattle, WA. By the 2nd day of the 4 day show he had nothing left to sell. Here he had found a customer base that knew wildlife and appreciated the intricate detail and realism of his sculptures. Today, Frank’s designs truly reflect the love and passion he has for his work. After 23 years, he continues to develop and improve his collection. Frank still hand carves, in exquisite detail, every piece himself, making each sculpture unique.

Montana Artisan Collection

The art of sterling silver inlay has been a Gwynn family tradition for more than two generations. It all started in 1976 with inlay artist Ed Gwynn who began his craft in Cody, Wyoming shortly before moving his young family to the pristine Bitterroot Valley of Montana. In this beautiful mountain setting, Ed Gwynn passed on to his sons his natural talent for hand-crafted silver inlay as well as a strong belief in integrity and hard work. Years later, a profitable business and rich family tradition emerged.

Ed’s youngest son, Dan, began the art of inlaying at the age of twelve. As Dan grew, his passion for knives and the art of silver inlay flourished as did his love of sports, wildlife and the outdoors. More than thirty years later, Ed now enjoys practicing his craft in a more relaxed setting back in this native Wyoming while his son Dan carries on the tradition. Incredible craftsmanship, unique designs, and attention to detail have set Dan and his family apart from anyone in the industry for more than three decades. Dan’s personal inlays can be found on thousands of corkscrews, and knives around the world.

Jim Gilmore Art

Jim Gilmore was born and raised on a cattle ranch in southern Colorado, where he continues to live. While growing up, he developed an early love for the surrounding mountains, Western and cowboy culture, and the wildlife that inhabit them. Combining this fascination with a life-long interest in art, Jim went from cattle rancher to full-time sculptor in 1985.

'Yukon Bull' 22”H x 28”L

From Rancher to Sculptor
Jim believes an in-depth knowledge of anatomy and animal habits are very important qualities for an animal sculptor. He continues to spend many days in the mountains researching and photographing wildlife and around the ranch with his horses and mules, which adds to his knowledge of the subjects he sculpts. For these reasons, his bronzes find ready acceptance by ranchers, cowboys, naturalists, sportsmen, and art collectors alike.

A Self-Taught Sculptor
Jim has had no formal art training, but believes that his experience has given him a knowledge that would be difficult to learn in a school. He is involved with the molding, casting, and applying of the patina and final finishes to each of his bronzes. This extra effort – being on-site at the foundry to oversee the finishing touches – has earned him collectors throughout the world. Jim’s compositions and attention to the smallest details have been rewarded by acceptance into hundreds of art shows and exhibitions throughout the United States.

Award-Winning Sculptures
His efforts have been rewarded by repeat Best of Show awards at Safari Club International, the National Wildlife Art Show, and the NatureWorks Art Show. He has been commissioned to sculpt monumental sculptures by many individuals, universities, cities, and organizations, including Baylor University, Adams State College, NatureWorks, the city of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, and the city of Black Hawk, Colorado.
